About Auckland Airport

Auckland's international and domestic airports are the number one transport hub in New Zealand. All of the world's major airlines frequent Auckland and there are several airlines serving domestic routes between Auckland and the rest of the country. Various transfer services will get you from the airport to your hotel. A number of international airlines operate flights to Auckland including New Zealand's carrier, Air New Zealand.

Auckland's international and domestic airports are located in Manukau City, around a 45 minute drive from downtown Auckland. A range of short term and long term car parking options are available at both the domestic and international terminals. Getting between the terminals is easy - take the free inter-terminal bus.

Look out for the 'Bluecoats', airport hospitality ambassadors, able to assist travellers with a range of requests. The international airport has more than 100 retail outlets, cafes, restaurants, bars, banking, currency exchange, chapel, children's playground and bathrooms with showers.

Various shuttle and taxi operators are licensed by the airport and meet all flights. You will find these services at the western side of Auckland airport's international terminals and in front of the domestic terminals. Shuttle services start at approximately NZ$20 per person and a taxi into the city will cost minimum NZ$50.

An Airbus operates a city-airport route every 20 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes during the evening. The Airbus makes pick-ups and drop-offs at many major hotels and backpackers in the central city. Regular public bus services connect the airport to the central city and several other local centres.
